Good advice Mr Frankl…

But for many of us its not that simple. Finding this space, in our lives or within ourselves, isn't easy and choosing the 'right' response doesn't always come naturally. In many instances, we don't even know what the right response is.

All we know is we are overwhelmed by disturbing emotions, so much more compelling than the good ones. We can't see past the obstacles that the world and others are throwing at us.

We are stuck and unhappy.

The good news is that just because you can't find the space, doesn't mean it isn't there and just because something doesn't come naturally, doesn't mean it can't be learnt.

To flourish in your life, you need to make your mental wellbeing a priority. This isn't about thinking positively to make the world magically transform to suit you. Challenges, loss and failure are all a part of the human experience. So is happiness! If you're missing the happiness part, it may be time to make a change.

Prioritising your mental health is about learning to know yourself well enough to know why you respond in the way you do. Then you can change the bits that hurt you and hurt others.

You can live your life within the myriad of life's highs and lows, with presence, acceptance and joy.
